Would the White Russians have set-up a government in exile in Alaska following their defeat by Lenin & Trotsky?

Would this have heated or cooled the Cold War?

No kidding—and they had one of the world’s greatest natural harbors just a few miles south! (Something the British realized immediately when they visited what is now Sydney, in Australia, BTW). Guess the Russians were never meant to have colonies across water.

I used to visit Fort Ross for field trips in elementary school. What always struck me was that the location is not at all ideal.
