Identification of Project: Creativity and Blogging

Purpose of the Research:
This is a research project to study the correlation between cognitive, affective, and behavioral attitudes on creativity in the domain of blogging. (“Blogging” refers to maintaining an informal, chronologically sorted online journal.) You must be 19 years of age or older to participate. You are invited to participate in this study because you are a blogger, or a reader of blogs.

Procedures:
Participation in this study will require approximately one half-hour of your time. First you will take a survey containing around 70 multiple-choice questions, including demographic questions, and questions on how you relate to blogging. You will also take a personality inventory and a political orientation inventory.

The research will take place through a web survey hosted by the Department of Educational Psychology. If this is a hardship for you, you can participate via paper or telephone survey instead.

Risks and/or Discomforts:
There are no known risks or discomforts associated with this research. In the event of problems resulting from participation in the study, psychological treatment is available at the University Health Center Counseling and Psychological Services on a sliding fee scale, telephone (402) 472-5000.
