Great Leader

Just how big is that statue of Kim Il Sung in Pyongyang? Peter Hitchens took a trip to the great north and took a picture to show us the statues scale.

Why on Earth was it that North Korea became the ultimate Nineteen Eighty-Four fantasy land? They've gone so far in their Big Brother trip that the madness of Stalinism, Maoism and Hitlerism put together pales in comparison. I suppose they are in process of working on some new technology that enables Kim Jong-Il to live forever. In his father's time, genetic engineering etc. was still too primitive.

Mankind is capable of astonishing things.

The leaders of North Korea seems bent on proving that you CAN fool all of the people all of the time... but I imagine they will fail... Sure hope so.
