I usually have a bunch of half-read books lying around the house. One or two will be top priority and the rest are usually for light reading. Here is the stack I am going through now (note that this is not counting the stuff I should read):
I would like to tag the following people for a pic of their stack: Soob, Mark, strategist and I would love to see what the members of KI are reading. (See lists for Eddie and AE) Add your list in the comments or leave a trackback.

subadei added these pithy words on 27 May 07 at 3:42 pmYou’d mentioned before that you were a grappler. Do you practice a specific form (jiu jitsu or aikido?) or compete?
Your reading habits are similar to my own in that you’re inclined to read more than one book at a time. I’ll have a post up later on today with my own list.
A.E added these pithy words on 27 May 07 at 5:50 pmLet me know if the Yergin book is good. I’m thinking of buying it for a friend.
Curzon added these pithy words on 27 May 07 at 9:25 pmThe Prize is one of the best books out there. And the Economist is a great weekly read too.
kende added these pithy words on 27 May 07 at 9:30 pmHmm… Who’s up for a Coming Anarchy poker night in a year or two? Location: war zone of your choice.
a517dogg added these pithy words on 28 May 07 at 1:05 amCurrently reading Phillip Bobbitt’s “The Shield of Achilles.”
strategist added these pithy words on 28 May 07 at 1:50 amYounghusband – that’s a varied list of books you’ve got there.
My pile consists of:
– David Strahan, The Last Oil Shock (2007); – Sebastian de Grazia, Machiavelli in Hell (1989); – Anton Chekhov, Ward No.6 and other Stories 1892-1895; – Fernand Braudel, The Mediterranean – I randomly dip into Braudel most days.
zenpundit added these pithy words on 28 May 07 at 2:07 amIs the Brazilian grappling that ridiculous monkey-style crap ? Good luck with that. I swear, if someone ever tried that with me, I’d put a 230 lb stomp on their supraorbital ridge.
Currently reading: Medici Effect, Learning to Eat Soup With A Knife., Hitler and his Generals.
Chirol added these pithy words on 28 May 07 at 2:49 amFinally got around to Brave New War here and just finished Licensed to Kill by RYP. Have a huge stack back in Germany to pick back up when I return.
Younghusband added these pithy words on 28 May 07 at 3:07 am@subadei: I did do classical jujutsu for a number of years. Now I just concentrate on nogi grappling and BJJ. (@zenpundit: I think you are referring to Capoeira, which is very different to BJJ. Think Pankration)
@AE: I agree wholly with Curzon, The Prize is brilliant. (@Curzon: recognize the turtle in the plant?)
subadei added these pithy words on 28 May 07 at 3:58 amYH, remind me not to try and kick your ass anytime soon. I wrestled in high school and watched Royce Gracie take apart (and set combative precedence) his victims using the Brazilian form of jiujitsu in the UFC.
Mark, eat your Wheaties, you’ll need ‘em!
Lexington Green added these pithy words on 28 May 07 at 5:15 amI put up my own current list in response.

A.E added these pithy words on 28 May 07 at 6:36 amI used to really enjoy reading the Economist. I would get extremely excited whenever a copy came in the mail. Sometime after 2003, I lost interest in them. The only magazine I get genuinely excited about (in the same sense) is Foreign Affairs.

snow added these pithy words on 30 May 07 at 2:41 amFascinating book choices by all. My background is a probably bit different than most here (arts, fine arts) and I don’t have time to read books much, but have been reading the collected works of Shakespeare, recently read Miles Davis autobiography (with Quincy Troupe, in Miles’ own words), want to start C.S. Lewis “Mere Christianity” and am looking for a book on the life of Cole Porter. I also read The Economist and the International Herald Tribune (Asian edition) regularly and various websites on a regular basis. I would love to read many of those suggested by everyone here. So many great books, so little time.
