As for the beard thing, I found it not necessary. I thought about the same thing when I went, but was surprised to see that it isn't that common to wear a beard in Iran. It may be more of an Arab thing(?).</description>

But yes, I know Japanese businessmen who go to Iran and deliberately (1) forget their ties, which are like uniform in Japan, and (2) start to grow beards, another thing you rarely see in Japan.</description>
