A1one: Mind Control
“Mind Control”Â? is written in Farsi on this image. It refers to the propaganda promoting a unity of islamic countries in universities and public spaces. from PingMag

Japan-based art and design webzine PingMag has a great interview with Tehrani graffiti artist A1one. The article gives some insight into the youth and street culture of urban Iran, revealing the relationship between the Iranian youth and the authorities.. The themes and symbols used in the artwork are indicative of the feelings on the street: yearning for peace, being trapped in cages, lacking freedom etc. Check out the artwork, there’s more on A1one’s blog.

I wasn’t on the lookout for graffiti while I was in Tehran, but I did shoot some stencil art I found on the inside wall of the Sarkiss Cathedral.
