La Dolce Vita

This morning I embark on my latest trip, a week in northern Italy to visit a friend. If you’ll recall, I was there recently in March when I visited Aviano USAF base. I’ll be gone for the next week and will likely do no posting. I do have a few things set to auto post although I won’t be around to participate in any commenting.

The real Valentine Chirol made frequent trips to Italy. Some were for mere pleasure, others were to help him recover from the stress and pressures of being editor of The Times’ foreign department. Working six days a week, my trip will be of a similar nature but most importantly to visit one of my best friends. Thus, we have no specific plans though there is a possible visit to Trieste in the works.

I’ve also finished Diplomat Without Portfolio and updated Chirol’s Wikipedia entry accordingly. During my absence I recommend reading it and buying the book! I also have a few posts set to autopost while I’m gone.
