Ahh, true love

So I’m walking uptown and I happen to see a pretty nutty billboard right in front of a friend’s apartment. I didn’t have my camera on me, but when I got home I did a google search for “Emily Steve” and found the full story and the picture that I wanted to take:

What’s more, this Emily even has her own blog. This billboard is just one step:

Tomorrow, the world will bear witness to a woman scorned. After tomorrow, husbands all over the country will think twice before inviting their divorcee secretaries out for a mojito. They’ll check themselves before they wander into online singles chat rooms. After tomorrow, husbands will be rubbing one out in the shower, instead of signing the room check for their mistress at the Plaza. Steven and Laura have been doing a lot of fucking lately. Now, it’s my turn.

As we say in New Jersey, revenge is like serving cold cuts.

The question, of course, is if this is genuine or another guerrilla marketing campaign My bet is that it's another 5Gish action similar to Benjamin Stove.

I read the website, my guess is that this may be real, but the website is a fake. The path of postings is a little too perfect, too much foreshadowing like a very poorly written novel.

It's a CourtTV viral ad. "More info from Curbed":http://www.curbed.com/archives/2006/07/18/weird_billboard_followup_the_bullshit_deepens.php

While looking around for noteworthy things in NYC, check this out:

Oh and on a much more tasty (yet somewhat illegal) note... Mangosteens in Chinatown:

Happy to hear that, Kende. I guess this means I do have psychic powers after all! :-)

Among other clues, running this would open up the owner of the board to being a party in a very-emotional tort by apparently wealthy people. The opposite of prudent.

Viral marketing works...and this thread is proof. States could never make it work. Terrorist groups do a half-assed job. And let's hope it stays that way. Powerful tools are safer in the hands of those that want to sell things rather than change people.

This whole thing is fake. If you have ever been married and divorced you would know the stages of development before it gets to revenge the way she (he) is doing it.

The bill board is photoshop.

Dr. Rand: If the facts as she states them are true, under New York law, she will win a divorce on grounds of adultery as it appears she can prove it by a preponderance of the evidence (see the video on her site). And as it will take at least 30 days from serving her husband to recieve a judgment, it is not unreasonable to assume that she is just enjoying it while she can. (Although this could in turn result in him suing her for cruel and unusual punishment.)

And if this was a mere promotion, I'd doubt they'd be using a blogspot to do the blog. But as it stands it could be either case, and I reserve judgment. I can assure you just one thing: I saw the billboard with my own eyes. It was not photoshopped.
