Camels

Camel train

Check out this brilliant shot from National Geographic Turkey. Can you see what’s so special about it? I will post the answer in the comments later on.

It's taken from straight above when the sun is low in the sky. It is a brilliant shot.
Where is this?

The camels almost look like drawings done on a cave wall.

To steal a line from "Nights in White Linen". Which is truth, and which is illusion.

_It's taken from straight above when the sun is low in the sky._

It looks the opposite. The shadows are directly under the camels, so the sun must have been high in the sky. A low sun would result in long shadows. Since the camels are seen in profile, the photo cannot have been taken from directly overhead.

Some of the camels have little white blotches connecting with their shadows. Perhaps they are a part of the shadow but were somehow photographically reversed??

Regardless, it is a great photo.

Thanks for linking.

Please link to my post and not the picture directly, because otherwise it will not display.

The camels look strangely two-dimensional....

Chief, you've got it backwards. The black are the shadows, the little white splotches are the camels, seen from overhead.

Thanks for the support Eddie. I tried to put one post a day. As soon as those other boys get back, I am going to have to take a break. I have about 100 pages worth of writing and two presentations to do over the next month. After that is over I can breath. Then it is SpecOps for the summer! Hoo-ya!
