He wasn’t that good, but it had its moments.

To make a more substantive comment than the one I left above…

...I thought that he was really good, especially with the voice impersonations. However, I have to say that I think that his point regarding terrorism and the Middle East, mentioning Al-Jazeera along the way, was wrong. Unfortunately, support for Islamic terrorism in the Arab world is much greater than support for the KKK in the United States. And Al-Jazeera itself epitomizes this; when suicide bombers blow up Israeli civilians, they are refered to as hajamat fada’iya, “self-sacrificial attacks,” not hajamat intihariya, “suicide attacks,” because suicide is a very grave sin in Islam, while the mainstream view in the Arab world – again, unfortunately – is that people who blow up Jewish persons are sacrificing themselves. A similar attack on Iraqi civilians is called what it is – irhabi, terrorist.

Likewise, when Israel kills a terrorist he is referred to as being a shahid, or martyr, and Palestinians invaiably take to the streets to protest. Although support for terrorist attacks by Hamas is sometimes explained by that organization’s extensive social support network, the pro-terrorist reaction is also there when it is a member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. And they don’t run schools or clinics – all they do is blow people up.

He is VERY funny…. I particularly liked the joke about neglecting the fun in fandamentalism while focusing on the mental…
