We’ve arrived safely and were picked up at the airport by my contact, who is turning out to be a most generous host. How generous? He’s hosting us at his family’s house; his Mom made us a delicious dinner; we’re spending two more days in the city before heading north for the Dalat Flower Festival, and he’ll be guiding us the whole time; and now I’m writing this at his friend’s internet cafes, for free (and illegally; there’s a midnight curfew for businesses and it’s now 1:10am local time). And we’ve been on the ground less than four hours.
Before arring at the net cafe he and one of his friends drove us around town on their motorbikes, allowing us to see the exciting night life, French Catholic cathedrals, Buddhist pagodas, the Communist Party headquarters, and much more. Once the sun rises I’ll get to taking some pictures. Stay tuned.

darin added these pithy words on 14 Dec 05 at 5:34 amIllegal internet usage and you’re not even in China yet, you rebel. :)
But maybe you could get away with it because you’re not paying for it, so it’s not really business and stuff right?
