As regular readers know, I’m heading through Vietnam and China on my way to Japan next month. This map is another way of looking at the route I’ll be taking.

Stunningly beautiful.

I was just coming back from reading through the top few entries on Belmont Club and thinking Chirol should go there and just scroll… But I just got hooked on the lights and the dark patches shown above and sat hear staring for a while.

Hey, you think Kaplan can be convinced to take his book tour to Tokyo for the next in the series? I’d start saving now for the trip.

I love that map….the contrast between the two Koreas is stunning. Sounds like a good trip

I’m surprised there’s really much of ANY light in North Korea, but there are a few minor bright spots other than Pyongyang.

What’s weird is that a lot of the South Korean countryside is also heavily illuminated. Japan, too.

and that is probaly quite a few years ago, before China light up.

I had to buy thick curtains to block out all that light in Seoul.

Note how China is also in the dark.
