The Russian Duma today rejected a media bill suggesting a limit be placed on the quantity of negative information per newspaper edition, radio or TV news program, by 10 percent. The Duma said that “concealing negative information would in the end work against the citizens of Russia.” Well duh! I guess some people still want to live in that lost communist paradise which only existed in pamphlets and broadcasts. The bill was forwarded by the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (some info in English), led by the infamous Kazahkstan-born Jew Vladmir Zhirinovsky, whose manifesto reveals some of its other admirable policy goals:
“To strengthen legislative and executive power, to ensure total control over all money trails, to transfer argicultural and natural assets to the state, and to fight separatism.”Â?
Sounds ever so liberal and democratic, don’t you think?
