If not quite at the level of Tim O'Brien's masterpieces, it's still a great book. Gonna go to see the movie on Friday too, though. Hopefully not too big disappointment after the book... But I'm just a sucker for all the military action, the rythmic sounds, and Ray Charles saying Oo-Rah with emphasis. But I've expected it to decend into either an anti-war diabtribe (considering Gyllenhaal is the lead character, and Kanye West gives the lead single) or just crumble into nothingness.
