Sorry for my conspicuous absence from posting lately. I’ve just returned to Germany from two absolutely fabulous, sun filled, beach filled, free ketchup packet, internet filled, customer service friendly people filled weeks in the United States. Average temperatures were around 90F to 102F (ahhh!), with cloudless skies and southern hospitality. Though I did manage to get a decent bit of posting in then, I was busy seeing many friends and family at home and in neighboring states. Now that I’m back, I have a number of things to get done before flying to Syria on Sept. 2nd such as getting a new German residence permit and enrolling in University (I’m switching). As I STILL have no internet (politely cursed out the “new provider” and canceled and ordered from the Telecom again). Conveniently enough, my internet is set to be turned on on the 31st, two days before I head to Damascus. Wouldn’t you know it…Also, I’m halfway done with a follow up post on empires. I started it last week and then was too busy to finish it. It’ll be up sometime this week!
