Museum of Left Wing Lunacy

New addition to the blog roll: The Museum of Left Wing Lunacy. My personal beef on this subject is typically reserved for Amnesty International and the UN, and some of the site is too partisan for me. Nonetheless, there’s some great stuff here and I’ve included one of my favorite posts below. Enjoy.

Daily Kos Hits New Low…

The wacky lib site posted the following:

“Sooner or later, we are going to be expected to put forward our own solution to the problem of international terrorism. I want your solutions, so that we won’t be unprepared when the time comes. Next election, we’ll be expected to put up or shut up.

And we can’t look like wet noodles or ditzes—we need to put forward our strong minded alternative policy.”

Well, he’s right so far. They will be expected to put up or shut up…too bad it took them two elections to figure that out. Anyway, the real funny part is the options that these dumbasses come up with.

We need to work for economic justice for disenfranchised Muslims

‘Economic Justice’ and ‘Disenfranchised’ are two of the lefts favorite words…they’re always looking for sentences to throw them into. I’m not sure who came up with this particular idea to stop terrorism, but I’ll bet he was one of the stupid kids who complained about high school class ranking systems. It shows a complete failure to understand the situation. We can help out 99% of the Muslims in this world, and things would be peachy with them. But, the 1% or so that want to kill us would never accept our help and won’t give a flying crap if we help the others. Why? They’re crazy and they hate our guts.

Another brilliant solution was this one:

We need a worldwide dialogue on Islam’s association w/ world

Why hadn’t I thought of that? If we sit around in a circle and maybe sing a few Elton John songs, the problem will solve itself! Not. I think we need a good dialogue with the world on why they aren’t helping out with the war on terror that might very well save their asses.

And my favorite entry:

Maybe it would be helpful to do some public TV shows about the history of Islam.

Hahahaha. Public…hahahaha….tv shows? Yes, ladies and gentleman. We are going to air the history of Islam right after Survivor and right before Big Brother. That oughta attract a relatively intelligent audience that cares deeply about ‘economic justice for disenfranchised Muslims’.

Oh man, you've not seen the "half":http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?id=1988 of it.

That aside, I'm constantly stunned at what the left comes up with. So many of their creeds hinge on base emotionalism that easily finds echoes among naive highschool students (as the so-called "Youth for Peace, Action, and Social Justice" movement at my own school testifies). I'm baffled: why do people never _think_ about these things? We rightists might be cynical, but we certainly aren't stupid....

Eh, any website showcasing the worst qualities of its opponents (especially in a mocking, half-serious, characiture) is worthless to any progress. Reasonable people don't need a cartoon to know when someone says something stupid, and they also know that both sides say a lot of stupid stuff. Maybe I'm too serious but I don't find this sort of site funny anymore.

Now, thebestpageintheuniverse...that's funny.

Michael -- You make a good point. However, showing a piece that suggests your opponents have only just started to realize they should think about how to solve international terrorism, and then showing that they think the solution to this is a PBS programs on Islam, well... I can think of few things more deserving of ridicule.

Kumbaya, brother!

Daily Kos recently had a meltdown. There were so many posts about "Bush and Blair bombing the London subways to take people's attention away from etc. etc." that Kos actually kicked off and blocked future posts from the conspiracy theory crowd. He told them he only only wanted posters to his blog that were "reality based." Due to the ensuring outcry from his dysfunctional minions, he relented and let them back in.

It is not necessarily a bad thing to have politically ditzy people fulminating on the periphery. It is a disaster when they are in a position to start running the show. The common denominator is that these people are usually irony-impaired. They usually either have no clue that what they agitate for will cause chaos and disaster, or, they believe a "more just and fair" society will rise from the ashes.

It's a shame that much of the media and higher education system are turning out so many bomb throwers and Savonarolas. Most civilizations die of self-inflicted wounds.

I don't see how the war on terror is saving anyone's ass. If you really think that since it started the world (or even just Europe and America) are safer, then I think you should provide some evidence for that.

I also don't see how this one example would prove that the left is looney, seeing that that person can really only speak for herself. What you're reading there is just a caricature, and it won't help you learn anything. There's plenty of brains out there oppose this war, and plenty of people who aren't fruits, pussies or whatever who actually don't consider warmongering "brave".

I think we could all find some common ground here - wouldn't we all like to see "economic justice for disenfranchised Muslims"? There doesn't seem to be much economic justice in many of the oil-rich states, for example.
And the west is woefully ignorant of Islam, which actually has a culture of egalitarianism that compares with Christianity.
But none of that can happen while a part of our society apparently believes that the west "deserves" terrorism because of its many sins... This is a nonsense, and we have to find a way of dividing the terrorists from their support.

Agreed on Kos. He has ceased being worth reading. Other bloggers with very similar philosophies and sites (like Chris Bowers of MyDD) are much better, because they seek coherently advance their agenda. Not just leftist agitprop day after day after day.

First, "Economic Justice for Disenfranchised Muslims" ... That is already in place. Kudos to Islam's culture of egalitarianism.

Second, "Worldwide Dialogue" ... Again, already happening. Mad Bombers vs the rest of us. Nothing like blowing people up to get a conversation going.

Third, Public Broadcasting Education: Here, I have a suggestion. Make sure and work in Big Mo's dream when he flew to Jerusalem - of all places - on a magic winged horse one night, landing on the Temple Mount, and claiming the surrounding territory. Helluva dream.
