Uzbekistan Updates

According to ITAR-TASS about 10 minutes ago:

The city of Andizhan fully controlled by Uzbek law-enforcement authorities

MOSCOW, May 14 (Itar-Tass) – The city of Andizhan is fully under control of Uzbek law-enforcement authorities, though some shots are still heard in the city, an Uzbek Interior Ministry official stated. He did not give his name.

The situation in Andizhan is fully controlled. The administration and other seized buildings are freed from mutineers. All the extremists are dislodged from the city. But some shots are heard there, the official said.

Haven’t seen any confirmations yet so we’ll have to wait and see. As always, Registan.net has your fix.

How “true” is this argument about Uzbekistan being similar to Ukraine and Georgia?
