Welcome to CA 2.0

Welcome to Coming Anarchy version 2.0!

After a month of planning and trying to find spare time between finishing up in Japan and moving to Canada, we have finally completed the new version entitled *Victorian Pagan*. I hope you all enjoy.

Why a new version you ask? Well, besides trying to keep up with the Jones’ (“Marmot”:http://blog.marmot.cc/ and “Argus”:http://www.registan.net/), the first version was slapped together six months ago as I was just learning WordPress. The old design was based on Binary Bonsai’s famous “Kubrick”:http://binarybonsai.com/kubrick/ template (before it became WP stock), and although we received many kind comments on our design, we needed something original.

Secondly, and more importantly, room had to be made for our new contributor *Chirol*, who will be posting a self-intro in the coming hours.

So look around, there are bound to be bugs. Leave your thoughts in the comments section or “mail us”:http://www.cominganarchy.com/colophon/ with your observations.

Sincerely,

Younghusband

About Younghusband

Sir Francis Edward Younghusband (1863-1942) was a British explorer, army officer, military-political officer, and foreign correspondent born in India who led expeditions into Manchuria, Kashgar, and Tibet. He three times tried and failed to scale Mt. Everest and journeyed from China to India, crossing the Gobi desert and the Mustagh Pass (alt. c.19,000 ft/5,791 m) of the Karakoram mountain range in modern day Pakistan. Convinced of Russian designs on British interests in India, Younghusband proactively engaged in the nineteenth century spying and conflict over Central Asia between the British and the Russians known as the Great Game. "Younghusband" is a Canadian who has spent a number of years bouncing back and forth between his home country and Japan. Fluent in Japanese and English with experience in numerous other languages from Spanish to Georgian, Younghusband has travelled throughout Asia. He graduated with an MA from the War Studies Department at the Royal Military College of Canada, where he focussed on the Japanese oil industry and energy security issues. He has recently returned to Canada from Japan, and is working in the technology sector.

You are my “all Canadian hero!”:http://www.cominganarchy.com/2005/02/23/traffic-lights-thank-the-un/

To our readers, a few notes: while the modest Sir Francis might say “while WE received many kind comments on OUR design, WE needed something original,” he’s just displaying the modesty so typical of the British soldier-explorer. Sir Ignatius and myself contribute a little less than jack-shit to the beautiful design you see here.

So, umm. How well do you know this web design stuff? Because I kind of had you in mind when I posted this.
