You see, this illustrates the duplicity present in Iran.

In one newspaper:

Iran nuclear resolution adopted
Cyrus Naseri, an Iranian delegate to the talks, described the negotiations leading up to the agreement as “excruciating” but “friendly in most occasions.”
He said the resolution “signals the commencement of a new phase” and added, “We welcome the fact that the issue of the nuclear program of Iran is, for now, removed from the agenda.”

And in another:

Iran group signs up suicide bomber volunteers
The 300 men filling out forms in the offices of an Iranian aid group were offered three choices: Train for suicide attacks against U.S. troops in Iraq, for suicide attacks against Israelis or to assassinate British author Salman Rushdie.

On another note, here is a simple outline that explains the Iran situation, and this shows the logic at work in normal Iranians minds. I experienced the same kinds of attitudes and arguments described in the latter article.

“They say don’t give a hungry man fish to eat, but teach him how to catch them for himself,” Mehdi says, using another down-to-earth metaphor to express Iran’s need to master the fuel cycle independently.

With all that oil, how can Iran say that it needs any other kind of energy? Are they exceeding their CO2 limits under Kyoto or something?
